The Eventra Event - Sunset Mall

On 25/7/2012, We were invited to the Eventra Event at Sunset Mall which was held for 5 days. The shops that were opened at the eventra were... The Ahlis, FMM, Ooh Laa Laa Baby Couture, For the love of, Romantic Flowers, Palestyle, Royal Couture, The Puppet Show, Neon Edge and much more!

Their just 'Amazing' and very creative! too bad I did not have much time stroll around and buy whatever attracts me!

One of the shops that I really like was FMM, The designs that she have made were just unbelievably adorable! Fatma AlMulla created notebooks with a beautiful out page of her work and not only notebooks but TDF shirts such as the nutella shirt that I'm wanting!

"Ooh Laa Laa! Baby Couture" had fabulous children clothes, One of the dresses that I loved were these ballerina dresses, they were just amazing! It had different colored tutu's stuck together with hot pink as the top layer of the shirt and tutu
Too bad I have a baby brother not a sister!, My sister is all grown up! :')

The Ahlis also had these vintage dresses that were just fanatic and were creatively designed, I haven't seen their clothes line but from the looks of it, They were just FAB.

The Puppet Show's blazers/jacket were just Phenomenon!
The sequence and colors/material that have been used were absolutely beautiful.

"For The Love Of..." were selling some abayas and some accessories which reminded me of Lebanon, the use of their colours in their accessories were just what I call "Summer Splash" - Very flashy and quiet simple to wear on an outfit or a night out.

It was lovely to meet Fatma AlMulla, Zubaida (Owner of ButterHotShoes), Al Ahlis, Um Saeed and the others!

Here are some Photo's of the Eventra Event:- (Taken from Instagram/Myself)

What is the purpose of Ramadan?

The month of Ramadan is not like any other month; It's one of the important months that muslims have.

This blessed month has been sent by Allah to His bondsmen to create a strong bond to themselves and to Islam by reading the holy qura'an and have a strong relationship between god and his bondsmen. A person who has been given the opportunity to be present in this month can take this as a sign that Allah has given him another opportunity to draw closer to Him and earn His paradise through worship in this month.

This month is also important because; in Ramadan we are given many opportunities to seek forgiveness for our bad sins that have been made in these 11 months.
This is a month of reformation and self reflection, where a believer can ponder over spirituality and piety and bring a change for the better. Prophet Mohammed صلي الله عليه و سلم has clearly stated:

مَنْ لَمْ يَدَعْ قَوْلَ الزُّورِ وَالْعَمَلَ بِهِ فَلَيْسَ لِلَّهِ حَاجَةٌ فِي أَنْ يَدَعَ طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ
Whoever does not give up lying and evil actions, then Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink”
Allah is not in need of any person to leave his food or drink. Allah is far from needs and desires. However, it is the mercy of Allah that He wants each and every person to leave those things which will lead him to hell and by controlling his or her desires throughout this month.
" ان جبرئيل عرض لي فقال بعد من ادرك رمضان فلم يغفر له قلت آمين
'Jibreel came to me and said, ‘Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and does not have his sins forgiven and so enters the Fire, then may Allah distance him, say ameen.' So I said “Ameen” [Mustadrak al-Haakim] "

In Conclusion, Ramadan has been made so that mankind can take benefit of ajr and ra7ma from god & to create a bond with Allah that will continue throughout the eleven remaining months.

It is a month within which Allah has instructed us to place more emphasis on actions regarding our Religion as opposed to our daily routine and emphasis on worldly matters.

Thank you & Hope this information has helped you
understand the purpose of Ramadan
& Ramadan kareem to every Muslim.

UAE Dress Code

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do. That is the message of two campaigns started by local women in the Gulf countries of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates." - AlJazira News.

"UAE Dress Code" campaign, started by 2 locals Hanan Al Rayes and Asma Al Muhairi, They began out of disgust at the sight of foreigners dressed in an inappropriate view. "Whether you like it or not, this country has its own culture that should be respected & protected by its own people," read one of their recent tweets on @UAEDressCode.

Lately, Forgeiners/Tourists do not pay attention to their clothing by wearing short dresses to malls which show 'un-wanted seen' parts of their body. Most families and local people hang out in public and might find what is being worn by forgeiners are quite offensive.

These laws have been created to stabilize our country and a respect to our religion which is Islam.

You might be thinking 'what kind of clothes are appropriate then?', well ... To be respectful towards the UAE culture...

For Women: the best thing is to remain covered from shoulder to at least the knees. For instance, although t-shirts (preferably with sleeves covering at least upper arm) are fine, "V-Cut" tops may not be appreciated in public areas. Tight or low-cut t-shirts are also considered offensive towards the culture.  If you were to wear a skirt, the skirt length should be above the knee level, Skirts can become short and show censored parts in your body which there is highe risk of male attention and basically a police arrest and fine.

For Men: You might think there is nothing to be mentioned and you might find it odd, Unfortunatly there are things to be mentioned!
When visiting/praying-in a Mosque, men are required to be dressed in long trousers or White kandoora's which what they tradtionally worn for prayers.
Men who wear T-shirts when going out can have offensive slogans or pictures, or obscene language that might cause religious or cultural offence, these things are not acceptable in the UAE and can be police arrest and fined too.

Consequences of not following the dress code

If you were caught wearing an offensive clothing outfit, and have recieved a warning, The best thing to do is apologize and fix it immediately. However, If an argument (Another warning) was informed again with the concerned person, matters may get worse, and police may be called.
On being caught in such a scenario, possibilities are one month imprisonment, followed by deportation.
Although, the police may not walk around particularly looking for offensively dressed visitors, they will surely respond to complaints.
